Wouldn't it be great if...
one day, we didn't have to take finals. You would step onto a conveyor belt, get anesthetized, head cracked open, and a machine figures out whether you understand the material or not? I hate finals. Also, drink time at 7:00pm sharp on Wednesday. I've decided to go to my last final at 4pm dressed to go out with a handle of Maker's in hand. I'm going to sit that bottle right in front of me during the test. whooo! | | Monday, May 7th, 2007 | | 2:14 pm |
Fuck! fuck! fuckity-fuck! fuck! fuck! FUCK! It's finals time. Can you tell? Currently papering: Ocular manifestations of rheumatoid arthritis with associated secondary Sjogren's syndrome, anterior, nodular scleritis and uveitis. BAH! Can I have corn dogs and ice cream now? And throw in a beer while you're at it. :P | | Saturday, May 13th, 2006 | | 1:35 pm |
suckass car update
Why Jelly has been upset as of late: -I have no idea where my car is. Allstate may have towed it to Pittsburg without my consent. -Allstate insurance agents are a motherfucking pain in the ass to deal with. -Allstate insurance agents are going to do things that irk you alot. Like call me at work, so much that boss is raising her eyebrows. -Someone at Allstate assumed that I was going to settle and so the processing woman called saying that she needed to go over somethings before she wrote the check! WTF!?! I've called them several times to say that the settlement was unacceptable and that cars that are my make, year and twice my mileage are going for 3 - 4 thousand dollars. Allstate wants to give me $1,200. FUCKERS. Allstate originally offered me $1,400. Now they're offering me $1,200. The repairs cost $2,300. -Allstate won't call me back. -I'm getting really stressed out by all of this, and nothing seems to make it better - not even exercising or rock climbing. Really emotionally worn and pent up. -Already thinking about the agonizing commute home when school starts. -How the fuck does someone sincerely say, "We hope to get you back in the road again." after offering you 1200 for you car? What am I going to do? Buy a bus pass or a BART ticket? -Agonizing about the time I'll be away from work because I'll be in small claims court battling the contract Allstate lawyers. Can I sue for mental distress and time lost from work? -Work. bleah. STressed with a large project. Though there was one shining moment this week. ARGGGGH!!! I just want my car fixed, Allstate to die, and my blood to stop boiling. | | Monday, April 24th, 2006 | | 9:02 am |
FUCK FUCK FUCKITY FUCK FUCK
Ellie has no car. Yesterday, some lady forgot to put her nice Saab in park, and instead put it in reverse. As she got out of the car, the car slid down her steep driveway right into my parked car. She did try to jump back into the car and pull the emergency break to stop the car, but no luck. She injured herself in the process. Now my poor front right wheel is collapsed into the car. There is damage to the under-carriage. And the wheel on the other side is off as well. It put my Sunday down the hole. Scared as hell that they just might call it a total loss because the work is going to cost more than my little 85 Accord. Poor Jellymobile. I love the bay...
As I drove over the bridge this evening, the sky looked like kids dropping food coloring in a bowl full of water. Pretty! Yeah, yeah. I know that I haven't finished posting about Europe and nor have I been posting about other things, I'll catch up one day... | | Wednesday, January 25th, 2006 | | 6:32 pm |
HOLLAND
Amsterdam! It's so cute! I love how the bikes are everywhere! The first night here in an "artsy" hotel. Each room was decorated by an artist or a business. We got the room sponsored by the Amsterdam equivalent of Good Vibes. LOL. It had red velvet, a black-four-poster bed. The sheets and curtains were leapoard and cheetah print. The carpet a royal purple. We had a mini-photo shoot with Cody on the bed. It's sexy in the hilarious sort of way. Then we booked the rest of our stay at the Flying Pig in downtown. We attempted to go the Heineken factory, but we got lost and by the time we got there it was closed. Pooh. But we had a good meal at a Chinese restaurant. I understood what they were saying! Something about a no good son that didn't want to go to school or work. hehehhe. Then we went to the oldest coffee house in Amsterdam. Had some hot chocolate and a cupcake. UNPHASED! Even got into a conversation with the nice man behind the counter about what could be wrong or what I had to eat that might have deterred the effects that I was expecting. oh pooh. Today we went to the Heineken Brewery. It's fun to drink in the middle of the day. I could have spent all day sending people videos messages from the brewery. We also went to the Modern Art Museum. It was very little because they were waiting for their new building to finish. the rest of the collection was stored away. Then we headed out to the Van Gough Museum, but of course, on the way, Codjelly found a half-pipe in a park. Jelly ran up the half-pipe and ate crap on the way down. Cody got it on digital film. hahahha. Then we witnessed a mom attempt to put all three of her young children on her bike. As she put the third kid on the bike, the bike tipped and all three kids fell off the bike. the bike toppled onto the kids *tsktsk* WTF? The kids were like 3, 4, and 6. Getting a little worried. Still have to book flights for the early return trip home tomorrow. I'm starting to get a bit nervous about the interview at Berkeley for Opto School. I'll be arriving two days before the interview. Hopfeully jet lag won't be an issue. The next time I write, Cody and I will be on US soil. :) | | Monday, January 23rd, 2006 | | 11:25 am |
BERRRRLIN
Was in Rome and Venice last week. Thank god we made it in one piece. We were waiting in a tent of a waiting area with plastic french windows while our plane was being built at Beauvais. The waiting room was pretty newly built because we could see the dirt beneath the floor boards. OMG. Never again will we fly to Beauvais. The stay in Rome was only for two days. Tomasz and Steven joined us in Rome. WHEEE! The Cappuccian Monk Church was pretty awesome. All thanks to IB 131L, I could still identify each of the bones that were used for the bone chandeliers and the displays. The Wedding cake was gorgeous at night. We threw coins in the Trevi Fountain. Then we hauled ass all over Rome! We walked all the way to Vatican city in like an hour. We were tired from that walk, but the Vatican was impressive. I don't think any church will even come close to the granduer of the Vatican. The freaking Coliseum was closed two days in a row when we got there. Something about being open only during daylight hours. poooh! We also went to an Irish bar in Rome, but it was more like a discotech. However, I can't complain much because they served Guiness and Smithwick's. the night was still great because we were throwing euros in Tomasz's cup when he wasn't looking, drinking powerful drinking, smoozing with the bartender (that was me...hhahaha), taking great pictures with coasters and straws (see Tomasz's gallery for those photos), and then drunkenly walking home, stopping every once in a while because someone had to take a whiz on the side of the road. We got back to the hostel, and most of us passed out. Tomasz though had not adjusted to the time zone, so he went exploring. He got lost but found his way back by remembering graffiti. If only we had more time in Rome. We rode the train into Venezia. Had a ton of fun riding around the waterboats through the 120 canals in Venice. Even got to see the Olympic torch run by. The best meal that I've had so far was in Venice - spaghetti scampi and fried meatballs. SO GOOD! AND I SAW MY FIRST SNOW FALL! I would have never imagined seeing snow in Venice, but it happened. The people are so nice here. Signore Leonardo let us stay in his hotel even though he was going on vacation the same day that we arrived. Awesome. We went to museums, went on a gondola ride, and fed the crazy pigeons at St. Mark's Basilica (we threw the feed at each other to get the pigeons to swarm around us. Dude, pigeons are freaking heavy.) The shopping was good in Venice. Manny and I took the waterboat out to Lido and Murano after Tomasz and Steven left. On Lido, they have cars! Murano is the famous glass-blowing island. The glass-blowing artisans used to be on the main island, but their kilns were so hot that they caused many fires. So the emperor moved them to the edge of the island. That didn't help reduce the amount of fires that ravaged teh city, so the emperor moved them onto an island of their own. I bought so many earrings. Manny had to prevent from buying any more earrings on the trip. We were supposed to take a flight to Frankfurt and then take a train to Berlin, but Ryanair cancelled our flight. When you cancel a flight you tell the people that the flight is cancelled and not let them wait another hour in the airport. *shakes head* F-ing Ryanair. So WE hopped back onto a bus back to the termini. We booked train tickets to Berlin. OMG. This was the worst train ride ever! We were booked onto a smoking train, for most of the way. We had to transfer a couple of times. We saw an Italian that was drunk of his ass, chain smoking right next to the non-smoking train, and telling the German girls that "dankeschein" was the euivalent of "bonjourno." What a dumb ass. I got hit on by a Eastern-European man (who was like 60) in the food car. He was trying to talk to me, but I just had to grab my salad and run. (I didn't go back to the food car again. We didn't know what the stops that train was making, so we missed our transfer to Munchen. Luckily there was a nice lady that told us that the next stop would put us back on track. We were so freaked out. Then we made it onto our last train that would take us into Berlin, and once again, we were put onto yet another smoking car. This one was the worst yet! Manny and I made a run for the non-smoking car. And then finally at like 7am we were in Berlin. The first thing Manny and Ellie did when they set foot out to explore was fall on their asses consequetively. Ellie took a dive first on the slippery ice. Manny laughed and told himself that he would not do the same, but his feet thought otherwise. Shane got a really good laugh. :) He's been gracious enough to take us around the city and told us alot about it's history. We've been riding the trains and walking all over in the cold. Our faces sting from the cold frost and our boots are wet, but we couldn't be happier to be here. Today is our last day in Berlin. It´s freezing cold. It´s been -14 degrees celsius! But it´s an amazing city. Nightlife, history, beer and all that good stuff. I don't think we would have had as much fun without our awesome hosts, Shane and Beth. I'm in love with gluvine. It's so perfect for such cold weather. There's bratwurst everywhere! The other night we went out to bars. The bartenders knew we were Americans so they took our money from us. :( So we took steins in exchange for the money they helped themselves to. This happened repeatedly, so by the time we got onto the train we looked like beggars for beer. Then next thing you know, two hefty Germans were pouring parts of their Becks into our empty steins. I love this place! OH OH OH! Kebabs are so DELICIOUS! Cody and I are heading to Amsterdam while Manny heads home. Boooo! I'll write more later! | | Thursday, January 12th, 2006 | | 6:22 pm |
PARRRREEEEEEE
Bon soir! I'm currently in Paris scarfing down crossiants, crepes, pain au chocolat, and any other wonderful French pastries (with coffee or wine) before I have to leave Sat morning. But don't cry for me; I'll be going to Italy. I must say that: -Napolean lived a bling-bling life as I did go to the Louvre yesterday. They're crazy! -Notre Dame almost made me cry. -I fed little birds at Notre Dame! I fed little birds at Notre Dame! I fed little birds at Notre Dame! They were the cute ones and they stood on my hand! the bird lady let me! -I got heckled for my hat - "CAT VOOOMAN" -I climbed up 668 stairs of the Eiffle Tower right after we clinbed the stairs at the Arc de Triumph. And I beat Carrie and Manny by like 30 mins to the 2nd level. They were waiting in the elevator line. -I must thank M. Hakkala for teaching me basic French words because it's getting us by. LOL -Was not impressed with the Mona Lisa however the Coronation of Josephine and other goodies in the Rubens Room of the Louvre made up for it. -Lots of crazy pics. It's better than normal pics. You'll see... The statues got molestered. Ellie did a lot of things for shits and giggles. Must get video of me running around in circles in the middle of the traffic circles. -Nutella is the bomb Time is about to run out. Must sign off. pics to be loaded when there isn't crappy internet. AU REVIOR P.S. Lucie, you may love the French, but they sure love them some skinny-headed dogs. | | Thursday, January 5th, 2006 | | 11:26 pm |
DUUUUUBLIN
We're in Dublin now. This is Ellie. Cody and I will be alternating paragraphs. :) There's lots of titties and redheads. Ellie's here too. Have you ever heard of menage a quatro? It's been quite fun. I have consumed more pints in past two days than i have in the past 2 months. It's all about the Guinness, Smithwick's (pronounced "Smith-icks"), and Bullmers. YUM. British stand-up comedy is on TV right now, and I don't understand a word that he's saying. He's making jokes about cabbage patch dolls, what the fuck? Oh, don't I tell you about menage a quatro? They have delicious alcohol - Guinness, Smithwicks, Jameson - but why the hell do they cut everyone off at such an early hour? Oh and Jameson here is delicious. That's right. Ellie said that Jameson is delicious. It's nothing like the shit that is in the States. I didn't even make the Ellie-just-had-whiskey-face. I sat back and sipped on it like the old grumpy white man at the end of the bar. We can get Naughty College School Girls 22 on the telly. Woot! There are hot Irish men here. They have the looks of Beckham and firefighters. heheh. Cody now refuses to write anymore. I keep it in the pants just like he does with the titties and firefighters. I went to the Jameson and Guinness factories one right after the other! Both liquors here taste better than at home. (also I learned how to pour the perfect pint at the Guinness factory.) We also saw sights known to the Irish as "The Two Hags with Bags" and "The Tart with the Cart." The Irish are great fun. Well until you run into the few that stare because I'm different from them. And so it makes it ok to stare, even they know and I know that it's IMPOLITE to stare. *shakes head* This happened to me 4 times last night. But I meet more cool people to make up for it. (THANK GOODNESS.) Well it's off to do something else other than typa-typa-typa. Hope you all are well. I wish you were here. I'll (happily) drink one for each of my homies. hahahahha. | | Monday, January 2nd, 2006 | | 4:19 pm |
London Update #2
Hello again. Waiting at an internet cafe for a response from Trisha and Gary who are in town as well. New year's was very eventful amidst the horrible party and cigarette smoke that kept me up all night. That will be remidied soon I hope. We enjoyed the London New Year's Day Parade in Trifalgar Square, walked to the London Eye and went to the Dali and Picasso exhibits in the County Hall. It was a short day, but tired as hell from the previous nights events. BOOO!! Fire alarm went of in our hotel at 5am. Then 3 times in a row at 5:47. And then 7 more times between 5:49 and 6:05. Stupid party revellers. Thank goodness for the "LOOK LEFT" and "LOOK RIGHT" signs in the streets. Otherwise Cody and I would be dead by now. That's all for now. CHEERS! | | Saturday, December 31st, 2005 | | 7:42 pm |
OMG. I'm in London!
Seriously, I never thought this moment would come. I'm at the start of my Europe trip! *dances* We did have some problems getting in, aka Cody's AA flight being delayed, missing the connection to London, and then losing his luggage. Thankfully British Airways was nice to give us both flights for the next day and upgraded us to business class. The flight was smoooooth. We were well attended to, and the food was great. And they found Cody's luggage. :) We've only been in London for 2.5 days, but we've seen so much. Here's a brief itinerary. The first day we walked around the Embankment. We didn't want to do very much because we succumbed to jet lag. The second day: St. Paul's Cathedral Millenium Bridge Tate Modern Shakespere's Globe Theatre London Bridge London Pier Tower Bridge Tower Castle The third day: Leicester Square Chinatown (soooo little!!) Picadilly Square St. James Park Hyde Park Buckingham Palace Big Ben Westminster Abbey The Jeweled Tower The National Gallery and it's not over yet because it's New Year's Eve. We're resting for a bit at the moment. Leter we're going to join the crowd to see the fireworks at the Embankment. Who knows where we'll go next! Pictures are to be up loaded in a bit. You can find them in Cody's gallery. :) Feet hurt, but it's all worth it. :) The architecture in London is amazing. Having fun. Wish you all were here. I'll update again when possible. | | Monday, December 19th, 2005 | | 10:22 pm |

defeat
done: root beer milk shake 2 patties one side of a bun with tomato and lettuce left: one slice of bread from the double meat a cheeseburger minus the lettuce one-third of a Dr. pepper half a carton of milk Body decided that it wouldn't do anymore with about 20mins left in the challenge. I threw up. And the most frustrating thing is that it wasn't even that much. I came so close, but I lost. :) Afterwards, big Eric ate 3/4 of the cheeseburger that was left over and felt fat. What a pussy. LOL. | | 6:10 pm |

I'm awake and masticating
I'm awake and hacking at it again. I feel fine. My digestive sytem definitely feels slow, but maybe it just needs more fluid to churn all that beef. Chocolate shake, coffee, and a cold grilled cheese for breakfast. ( I ordered it last night because In n out doesn't open until 10:30am.) I totally understand why competitive eaters dip their food in liquids before scarfing it down. AHAHAHAAHA No digestive havoc, yet. :) | | 4:00 am |
